Yen Qin's Perched Ewer is inspired by the traditional water carrying ewer vessels and mythical creatures encountered during her travels to China in 2024.

Perched Ewer is a sculptural jug with a voluptuous theriomorphic form. A thick glossy glaze runs unevenly over the form of the jug accentuating its curves. Perched Ewer also doubles as a functional vessel.

Georgina Yen Qin Lee combines wheel thrown, hand-manipulated forms with complex surface treatments, addressing themes of cultural shame and reverence whilst making sense of the ‘third cultural space’ in which she occupies, as an Asian woman in Australia.
