A Romanesque inspired bowl with four handles that loop sculpturally under the rim. This work is part of ceramicist John O'Loughlins Sunken Galley Series and expresses key aspects of John O’Loughlin’s ceramic practice. The encrusted surface is deftly embellished and glazed to give the impression of a treasure brought up from the ocean's depths inspired by relics raised from Roman shipwrecks in the Dalmatian Straits. This is both a functional vase and a poetic object for aesthetic enjoyment.
