Claudia Bloxsome

Claudia Bloxsome is an Australian artist who uses weaving to create sculptural forms exploring the interplay of time, sentiment, and care. They embrace labor-intensive methodologies, allowing the subtle irregularities of the handmade process to become an integral part of each piece. This meditative approach serves as a form of introspection, with their personal experiences informing a desire to create spaces of visual respite for others. Through their intentional use of rhythm, colour, and texture, they aim to evoke a sense of calm and wonder, offering viewers a momentary escape into a world of aesthetic repose.

Trained in graphic, furniture, and interior design, Claudia brings a unique spatial and material awareness to their work. They have quickly gained recognition, with their art featured in prominent exhibitions, including Simone Haag’s Fables and Folklore, a group show at The Jam Factory, and a feature in Craft Victoria’s “Three Makers you Should Know.” They recently celebrated the success of their first solo exhibition at The Abbotsford Convent.
